Thai massage was developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha about 2,500 years ago in India. Later it crept to Thailand as the Chinese people were influenced by the Indian ayurvedic techniques and principles
Thai massage is Thai style massage that involves stretching and deep massage techniques. This massage uses no oil and is usually performed on the floor
Thai massage is also known as Thai yoga massage. The therapist uses his hands, feet, legs and knees to massage you and to help you to get into a series of yoga postures
Thai massage is different from other form of classic massages since it is more energizing, relaxing and rigorous
The Thai massage is also called as floor massage since it is performed on the floor instead of the massage table. This helps the therapist to perform the manipulation of limbs easily
The clients are made to lie on the floor and the therapist uses his hands, elbows and knees to massage the energy lines of the body. The therapist uses their own body weight to apply pressure to the client's body
The therapist starts the massage from the feet and slowly moves towards the head. The therapist will start massaging the body slowly and increases its speed once he/she feels that the muscles are relaxing. He also moves the body limbs to various yoga postures and stretches. This kind of movement helps the therapist to loosen the client's body and is also easy to stretch the body
Thai massage uses no oil so the clients are fully dressed during the massage. But they are advised to wear loose fittings to make the movements easy. If the clients wear any shoes and belts they are asked to remove those to feel more comfortable. The traditional massage takes two to three hours of time
The Thai massage can be combined with other traditional massages like Swedish massage. So if the Thai massage session is combined with the Swedish massage they are asked to get out of their clothes. Usually the Swedish massage is given at the end of the Thai massage session
