Visceral manipulation therapy can be called as VMT in short. Visceral manipulation first originated in Tibet and china more than 200 years ago. Then Jean-Pierre Barrall enhanced VMT and it became world famous. And Barrall was the one who introduced this massage in US around 1958
Visceral manipulation therapy is also called as Liquid Massage. It is gentle hand massage that is used to work on body's visceral system
Visceral manipulation helps to increase the mobility and motion of the body. The therapist uses rhythmic motions to see how the anomalous forces overlap, interplay and affect the normal forces which are at work
The therapist uses soft gentle forces to increase the mobility, motion and tone of the organs as well their connective tissues. These forces also help to increase the ability of the individual organs and structural integrity of the whole body
The visceral manipulation therapy session last for about 20-45minutes. The therapist uses their hand to do lot of listening. Then they may ask you sit or lie down to locate the ligaments of a specific organ that is affected by restricted motion. They work on the affected organs encouraging the ligaments to release the tension and help the organs to return back to their normal balanced position
